The use of inferior air filters will increase your vehicle’s fuel consumption, cause the vehicle to produce serious sludge carbon deposits, destroy the air flow meter, severe throttle valve carbon deposits, and so on.We know that the combustion of gasoline or diesel in the engine cylinder requires inhalation of a large amount of air. There is a lot of dust in the air. The main component of dust is silicon dioxide (SiO2), which is a solid and insoluble solid, which is glass, ceramics, and crystals. The main component of the iron is harder than iron. If it enters the engine, it will aggravate the wear of the cylinder. In severe cases, it will burn engine oil, knock the cylinder and make abnormal noises, and eventually cause the engine to be overhauled. Function of air filter

Air filter refers to a device that removes particulate impurities in the air. When piston machinery (internal combustion engine, reciprocating compressor air filter, etc.) is working, if the inhaled air contains dust and other impurities, it will aggravate the wear of the parts, so an air filter must be installed. The air filter is composed of a filter element and a shell. The main requirements of air filtration are high filtration efficiency, low flow resistance, and continuous use for a long time without maintenance.

Care and maintenance of Komatsu excavator filter elements
1. Daily maintenance: check, clean or replace the air filter element; clean the inside of the cooling system; check and tighten the track shoe bolts; check and adjust the back tension of the track; check the excavator air intake heater; replace the bucket teeth; adjust the excavator shovel Bucket clearance; check the front window cleaning fluid level; check and adjust the excavator air conditioner; clean the floor in the cab; replace the crusher filter element (optional).
2. After the new excavator works for 250 hours, the fuel filter element and the additional fuel filter element should be replaced; check the clearance of the excavator engine valve.

3. When cleaning the inside of the cooling system, after the engine is fully cooled, slowly loosen the water injection port cover to release the internal pressure of the water tank, and then water can be discharged; do not clean the engine while the engine is working, the high-speed rotating fan will cause danger; when cleaning or When replacing the coolant, the machine should be parked on a level surface; the coolant and corrosion inhibitor should be replaced according to the table.

Precautions for installing filter elements in Komatsu excavators
1. Before installation, check whether the filter element is damaged and whether the O-ring is in good condition.

2. When installing the filter element, keep your hands clean, or wear clean gloves.

3. Before installation, apply Vaseline on the outside of the O-ring to facilitate installation.

4. When installing the filter element, do not remove the packaging plastic bag. Pull the plastic bag backwards. After the upper head is leaked out, hold the lower head of the filter element with the left hand and the filter element body with the right hand, and put the filter element into the filter element seat of the tray. , press down firmly, remove the plastic bag after installation.

The Komatsu excavator air filter should be replaced or cleaned at least every 2000 hours or when the warning light is on. The outer filter element can be washed up to 6 times and must then be replaced. The inner filter element is a one-time item, which cannot be cleaned and should be replaced directly. If the filter is damaged, it must also be replaced.

Use clean, dry compressed air with a maximum pressure of 5 BAR for compressed air. Do not bring the nozzle closer to 3 – 5 cm. Blow the filter clean from the inside along the pleats.
