Why Do We Need A Good Quality Oil Filter

Because in the engine working process, metal wear debris, dust, carbon deposits and high-temperature oxidized colloidal deposits, water, etc. are constantly mixed into the lubricating oil. Therefore, the function of the oil filter is to filter out these mechanical impurities and gums, keep the lubricating oil clean, and prolong the service life of the engine. The engine oil filter should have the characteristics of strong filtering capacity, low flow resistance and long service life. Generally, a number of filters with different filtering capabilities are installed in the lubrication system-filter collector, coarse filter and fine filter, which are respectively connected in parallel or in series in the main oil passage. (The one connected in series with the main oil passage is called a full-flow filter. When the engine is working, all lubricating oil is filtered through the filter; the one in parallel is called a split-flow filter). Among them, the coarse filter is connected in series in the main oil passage, which is a full flow type; the fine filter is connected in parallel in the main oil passage, which is a split flow type. Modern car engines generally have only one filter and one full-flow oil filter. Suitable for WP10.5HWP12WP13 engine

Technical characteristics that a good oil filter needs to achieve 1. Filter paper: Oil filters have higher requirements for filter paper than air filters, mainly because the temperature of the oil changes between 0 and 300 degrees. Under severe temperature changes, the concentration of the oil will also change, which will affect the filtration flow of the oil. The filter paper of the high-quality oil filter can filter impurities to ensure sufficient flow under severe temperature changes. 2. Rubber sealing ring: The sealing ring of high-quality oil filter adopts special rubber to ensure 100% oil leakage. 3. Back flow suppression valve: only suitable for high-quality oil filters. When the engine is turned off, it can prevent the oil filter from drying out; when the engine is re-ignited, it immediately generates pressure to lubricate the engine. 4. Relief valve: only suitable for high-quality oil filters. When the outside temperature drops to a certain value or the oil filter exceeds the normal service life, the overflow valve will open under special pressure, allowing unfiltered oil to flow directly into the engine. Nevertheless, the impurities in the oil will enter the engine, but the loss is much smaller than the loss caused by no oil in the engine. Therefore, the overflow valve is the key to protecting the engine in an emergency.

Oil filter installation and replacement cycle 1 Installation: drain or suck up the old oil, loosen the fixing screws, remove the old oil filter, apply a layer of oil on the seal ring of the new oil filter, and then install the new oil Filter and tighten the fixing screws. 2. Recommended replacement cycle: cars and commercial vehicles are replaced every six months
Automotive requirements for oil filters 1. Filter accuracy, filter out all particles> 30 um, reduce particles that enter the lubrication gap and cause wear (< 3 um-30 um) The oil flow meets the engine oil demand. 2. The replacement cycle is long, at least longer than the life (km, time) of the oil. The filter accuracy meets the requirements of protecting the engine and reducing wear. Large ash capacity, suitable for harsh environments. Can adapt to higher oil temperature and corrosion. When filtering oil, the smaller the pressure difference, the better, so that the oil can pass smoothly.
